Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there and the single moms that are filling both roles! This year for Father's Day, we decided to make something for Dad and Grandpa. We combined the gift making process with gallon bag finger painting. the girls had fun and we got some great gifts out of it.

First we did a little hand printing and foot printing...

After these dried, I modge podged some pictures of the girls and Dad on them and a little poem. End result...

After the clean up from the gift making, we tackled the finger painting in a bag.

Maddi can't wait to do these again. She loves coloring, painting, anything that gets her creative juices flowing.

As for me, I spent my crafting time making Bridal shower favors. I used the idea I got from Pinterest for a sugar hand and foot scrub. It was super easy and works great! I used the blue Dawn dish soap with hand renewal and sugar. Mix it until it becomes a thick paste. I used dollar store containers with a pretty sticker and am in the process of putting a turqouise bow on them. Here is the in process picture.
Up next is Salt designs

Oh boy am I ready for some crafting!! I finally got my big girl back from visiting Grandma and Grandpa! I went and got finger paints, a huge roll of art paper, markers, glue, paint brushes, and a few other fun things. I also got the little one some Color Wonder markers and paper. With her loving to color just as much as big sis, I thought it would be smart to let her do it without running the risk of coloring the rest of the house. haha..... Life with a toddler, messes are to be expected, but there are things you can do to avoid ALL the messes.
Here is big girl hard at work. I don't dare disturb her.

Next on the list is finger painting in a bag.

There are approximately 11 weeks left of summer and I plan on crafting with my girls
as many of those days as I can..... but being the matron of honor for my best friend will take up
some of that time...... so we are going to include some of the
wedding and bridal shower decorations in our craft endeavors this summer.
Right now, I am in the process of making a "He says, she says" bridal shower game.
I found a cowboy and cowgirl both in bathtubs. How perfect?!?!?!

The shower theme is Old time western bath. I thought it would be fun to stray from the umbrella theme. Therefore, we are going with galvanized bucket decor and doilies provided by the bride's mother.
This bridal shower invitation was printed on a card stock that had a worn look to it.

The doily is the regular run-of-the-mill paper doily wrapped around the invite. Tie a thin ribbon VERY carefully through the holes in the doily and TA-DA!! And I hate hate hate blurring out things on my creations but, can't let out personal information. You know how it is.

As for my girls' adventures right now, Maddi is out of town with her grandparents having a blast playing with new friends and seeing new sights. I miss her terribly, but I know that her mind is being filled with new ideas for her next crafts. I am thinking about making some modge podge'd  canvas collages of her artwork. That way I can keep the majority of it displayed instead of packed away in a million boxes. And yes, there literally would be a million boxes. She does that much artwork. Riley is more in the scribble mode, but she too always has a crayon or pencil in her hand with the other hand reaching out for a piece of paper.

Until next time, keep your pencils sharpened and scratch paper handy
because you never know when an idea will hit you. Happy crafting!

Welcome to Glue-Sticks n Glitter! I am the mom of 2 very creative, artsy little girls. My oldest, Maddi, is ALWAYS coloring, cutting, gluing, taping, you name it, she does it. My youngest, Riley, is following in big sis' shoes nicely.

I think they got the creativity gene from me. I am currently helping my best friend with her wedding and in the process, planning a bachelorette party and bridal shower. OH boy! I have so many ideas and my creative juices are flowing. I made a flip flop shaped invite for the Hawaiian themed bachelorete party, a lace enveloped invite for the bridal shower, and now the decor for the bridal shower is coming along nicely. I will be posting pictures as these events happen, but for now, welcome and I hope you enjoy.
